Fold a sheet of white tissue paper in half, crumple up and half flatten out again.

Using the DTP method (direct to paper), lightly smear and dab ink pads across the wrinkled tissue paper. Start with the lightest colour first. I used Distress pad Milled Lavender.

Crumple up the paper again, half flatten out, and repeat step 7 using the next colour, Worn Lipstick. Go lightly. You can always add it, but you can't take it away...

Same again with the darkest pad: Dusty Concord.

And once more, with Gold or Champagne Encore Pigment Pad. This will add a little shimmer. Easy does it though!  

Tear the clean half off, and put the inky tissue paper to the side for a moment.

Peel the brown wax paper off the back of the rose picture.

Lay the crumpled tissue paper - inky side down - on top of the sticky rose picture. (it's under here! Honestly!)

Told you! There is enough tissue to do at least another card.

Using a ruler and craft knife, cut back the sides and bottom edges, but leave the top edge, where the sticky edge is. You will still need this...

Now, if you are lucky, you will have a light box. Failing that, you will hopefully have a window to work at. This is where the sticky edge is perfect, for hanging onto the window! Attach with the tissue facing you and the acetate away from you.

Using Promarkers (I used Cocktail Pink, Antique Rose, Orchid and Cardinal Red), colour in the rose from behind. Start with the lightest colour, and build up depth.

Turn over and be impressed.

Trim the top edge.

Using the DTP method, add a little more colour around the edges at the back. Go lightly though, especially with the darker colour.

Here's a little aside trick, which I stumbled upon by chance: when you have added ink to the back around the edges, flip the artwork onto a clean piece of paper or card, so that the inky side is facing down, and roll a brayer over the acetate side on top. You will transfer the wet ink to the new card, which makes an excellent starting point for another card.

In fact, why stop at one? Do several, until the ink is done!

Now we need to mount the Rose card to a white A6 Clarity Postcard, which should already be a little larger. How to attach? Cut a sheet of double-sided adhesive in half, attach it to the back of the rose picture in the centre, directly onto the tissue paper, and then attach that to the white card.

All done. And the best part of all is that the acetate goes mottled instead of smooth, like old glass! I think it was because the tissue might have still been a little damp with ink when I attached it to the white card.
